Battlestar Galactica is on break until late January, however this article at Geek Monthly reports that there is a straight to DVD movie in the works. Sounds like a great idea.
Some of the additional info is a bit unwelcome, however. Seems like the viewership numbers for season 3 have been sagging, and the show hasn’t yet been picked up for a fourth, although it’s pretty likely. I’m also not too keen on this whole Caprica spin-off idea. Why not concentrate on what you have and make it excellent, rather than branching out into stuff before the first story isn’t fully told?

I’ve always thought that straight-to-dvd Star Trek movies/mini series would be great for the franchise. Fill in some of the gaps in the canon with stand alone stories. Maybe follow up of some of the episodes from any of the series, much like “Wrath of Khan” followed up to “Space Seed.”
Hmmm…. I could get into the idea of maybe a star trek miniseries. What actors would they use though? Seems like the original series is out… unless shatner and nimoy play themselves on the cusp on the next generation. I’m sure you have heard about this new 11th Starfleet academy movie.
Honestly, I’m open to a new cast, crew and ship, maybe with one or two veterans at the helm. Like “A New Adventure with Tuvok” or something.
