Chocolate Covered Altoids

December 22nd, 2006

FoodOkay… so I’ve mentioned I have this mint tin collection, and along the way I’ve eaten a lot of mints. So I spied this gem: chocolate covered Altoids.

I saw three flavors so I snapped them up: ginger, peppermint, and cinnamon. The box has a gold and brown lid with a stripe indicating the flavor. The chocolate is on the darker side, making the Altoid resemble a Junior mint or a Rasinette.

Anyhow, I was initially skeptical, and the flavor of cinnamon and chocolate isn’t all that pleasing - but as for the peppermint ones… my box is nearly empty after only a day.

The most addicting aspect is that with a chocolate, I have the instinct to chomp away at it, making me crack the Altoid into little bits and therefore eat them much faster. If you let one of these chocolate Altoids sit in your mouth, you lose the combination of the mint and chocolate experience.
