Webomatica Adds FeedBurner, Tunequest Promotion
A few blogs I read (namely Tunequest.org and Mathew Ingram) use FeedBurner. I noticed how mine looked strange (the punctuation gets mangled) in certain feed readers — so I’ve signed up. The switch should be pretty transparent (I’m updating the current RSS feeds in WordPress so they redirect to Feedburner’s using this plug-in), but if you want to update your feed yourself, here’s a link to the new feed. Sorry for the hassles, but anyone who currently subscribes to a Webomatica feed (of which I’m sure there are very few) ought to automatically redirect over to that one. I think that’s how it works.
I’ve played around a bit with some of FeedBurner’s customization options and was mighty impressed. You can display the number of comments on blog posts, include images, and submisson links to digg or del.icio.us. I’ll likely toy around with some of these options over the next few days.
As a side note, Tunequest.org was recently added to the 9rules blogging network, so I’m reassured that I have some taste as to what constitutes a cool site (maybe someday I’ll submit my blog to 9rules, too). Anyhow, he’s promising to include free mp3 downloads in his feed from time to time. So Check it out.
I made the switch early this morning…
…and it was not the only change today…
Sweet… I’ll check out your site. I get the feeling you are hinting at… something Googly?
Awesome! Thanks for the shout out. Though, for some reason tunequest is accepting pings. I normally get notified via email when they happen, but the link above didn’t register on my “bribery” entry. I know Spam Karma didn’t eat it; it just didn’t show up.
Hmmm.…
Anyway, I noticed the re-vamped feed when I fired up NetNewsWire this afternoon. I hope FeedBurner treats you well.
Tunequest, you’re welcome for the shout out… see, if you give away free stuff you get karma points back.
Now at least I know there are about four subscribers to this strange site out there
. Well, so far I’ve enjoyed FeedBurner. At the very least, watching the subscriber numbers will give me one more blade of grass to watch slowly grow (in addition to AdSense and Technorati rank) …
