Interesting: Musicovery
Many of you have probably already checked out Pandora (you type in a favorite song and it tries to find similar ones). Here’s another site that uses some information from you to dig up music: Musicovery.
There’s a colorful user interface on the left (suspiciously shaped like an iPod) that you adjust slightly for a particular mood. A maze-like path then appears, with pretty flower-like shapes scattered around. Each one is a song, and they just start playing. If you get sick of the songs it’s picking, just click on the flower-shapes or tweak the controls.
Neat idea, especially if you’re totally out of the music loop and trying to figure out how to write a song about Paris Hilton.
Totally unrelated subject-wise but still interesting: Wii Have A Problem a site about people damaging things with their Wii set up. Bruised people, smashed glass, holes poked in walls and television screens, some even with YouTube videos. I don’t mean to stereotype, but Americans tend to be an excitable bunch, and this boisterousness combined with video game novices and a heavy dose of stupidity makes for some funny - if wince-inducing - stuff.
Disclosure: The above reference to “Paris” could be Paris the city, Paris Gellar from Gilmore Girls, ParisLemon the blogger, or Paris Hilton. I have no financial relationship with any of them.
