One more off-topic one, then I'll be good. Promise. I have a David Byrne story too, not as good as having his credit card in your hand, but anyway: a girl I knew once stood in a movie line in front of him years ago and struck up a conversation. She was a dance major/opera buff and knows nothing about popular music. At one point he says, "Well, I have a band." She says, "Oh really, what are you called?" He says, "The Talking Heads". She says, "No, I don't think I've heard of that. Well, good luck with it!" She knows who they are now.

Hmm... maybe we should move this over to the Beatles post.

That is an amusing story. Did you say anything to her?

When I was in college I worked in a sheet music store, and David Byrne came in... he had a cowboy hat on, and an overcoat. Nobody recognized him but when he rang up his music books, I looked at his credit card which of course said "David Byrne". For the record he bought a Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys book.

Sorry that this is totally off the subject of the Beatles thread and Jason Calacanis.

But hey, thanks for visiting and I'll surely write a post (and proper album review) about the Beatles Love.

Thanks for the nice words on my blog. The Denton-Calacanis thing is funny and dumb.

I liked your post on the Beatles. I have a Beatles story -- actually it's a Yoko Ono story (does that count?). When I was in college I had a job in a store in NYC called "Just Bulbs" that sold... just light bulbs. One day near Christmas she came in with Sean and a couple of bodyguards and I waited on her. She bought $300 worth of christmas lights and never once took off her visor-like shades. End of story.
