Interesting: Tunequest.org
I’m going to add a new style of post to Webomatica called simply “Interesting.” This is reserved for sites that are worth more than just a link, and actually I find myself exploring well past an initial page or two. The type of website could be Web 2.0, a blog, or whatever. I guess one might call such a site “sticky.”
The first site I’m labelling as such is Tunequest.org. I initially visited it because it links to my blog (as do others). However, upon reading the About page I realized this site was worth a second look. Basically, the blogger’s goal is listen to every single song in their huge personal iTunes library and write some thoughts about the best.
This act once, repeat ad nausem process appeals to the completist in me, as I find myself similarly obsessed with repetitive tasks such as watching all the AFI 100 Films, or James Bond movies, etc.
The neat part comes when I realized Tunequest.org recently began embedding some of the tunes to the posts via an inline MP3 player. This site will soon have a huge number of MP3s on its server, providing instant, on demand listening to what the blog post is about. So it will hopefully prove to be an interesting read (and listen) going forward.
Anyhow, Here’s a pretty good start to digging deeper into the site.
