Earlier I mentioned how Microsoft’s synergy between the Zune and the XBOX 360 might be something to watch. Microsoft recently announced that XBOX 360 is getting into the video downloading game.

This is going to be a tricky situation for Apple to overcome as XBOX 360 is firing on all cylinders. It’s an impressive console, and alreadly hooked up to the internet and obviously the television. Over the weekend I played a few games on it at a friend’s and my gear-lust-feelers activated, something that is usually reserved for Apple gear.

Apple needs make the iTV compelling enough either through a low price or enough features that people won’t ask, “Why don’t I just get something else, like an XBOX instead?” Mac compatibility may be the best thing going for iTV.

Or possibly the iTV will have the capability to play a few games thrown in.
