“Certainly tech’s new boom, which has been labeled Web 2.0 by some, has many similarities to the dot-com days of the late 1990s, when twentysomething millionaires rode their scooters through the corridors of short-lived startups and companies with little or no real revenues were commanding obscene valuations on Wall Street.”

Pretty good article on SF Gate comparing and contrasting Web 2.0 with Web 1.0, or the infamous dot com stock market bubble and implosion with the sock puppet and fleets of online grocery trucks driving off a cliff and into bankruptcy.

There are also loads more people online with broadband, leading to a more innovative experience. Lastly, and the biggest one of all, I think people are smarter this time out, having been burned once and not flying too close to the flames.
