OS X Software: Movies on the iPod
Every once in a while, I come across a video file I want to put on my Video iPod. Lately, I’ve been into downloading .flv files from YouTube (namely music videos). I found this one freeware program, iSquint that does a pretty decent job of converting FLV files to iPod Video format. iSquint has a pretty wry sense of humor about it, as the Help option lists Beatles lyrics, but hey, it’s free.
Just today, a workmate showed me another program: MoviesForMyiPod. It does the iPod video thing, but also can output movies for your PSP and/or cell phone. Pretty sweet.
While we’re on the subject, my software of choice for DVD ripping is Handbrake, and for sucking down YouTube videos I’ve been using a Firefox extension called VideoDownloader. There, now you too can watch feature-length movies designed for the big screen at business-card size resolution. Enjoy!
