Patricia’s “Done”: HP Damage Control

September 22nd, 2006

So it looks like Patricia Dunn finally got the message and resigned effective immediately. Maybe she wanted to collect that business award or collect the last few paychecks; whatever. It sounds like she has completely resigned; not on the board or anything although I’m looking around for confirmation. I wonder if she got some cushy severance package regardless (probably).

I’m sure Scoble will be happy. In my opinion, with this being the end result, it should have happened two weeks ago at that secret sunday board meeting. The damage to HP’s stock has been pretty substantial even in the past two weeks. I think the damage to their reputation and brand has been overwhelmingly negative and possibly spilled over to Silicon Valley tech in general.

So now people can get back to making great products for the future… well, after the stock options thing gets figured out…
