Tanja received a box of promo CDs from a record label, so I think it will be fun for me to post my aging, Gen X thoughts about this “new music.”

These guys are supposedly really popular and I guess they’re from California, too. Seems to be a hybrid of punk and goth. The songs ocassionally deviate from standard Green Day crunchers, some sounding like the Clash and another (probably my favorite) reminding me of an 80s flashback to The Cure, Asia, and Erasure.
The singer’s voice in general is decent enough, although he sometimes lapses into shouting, screeching, whining, and being bratty so I don’t know how often I’ll be repeat listening. Frankly, I can only take so much being yelled at. So this isn’t the worst new album I’ve heard, but it’s somewhere on the slightly above 50% list.

hey i love AFI and they rock. They play hte best rock and i keep listening to them over and over agin.its kinda funny whne they yell but sometimes it is weird but who cares its their own style and they dont care wat people think well they kinda do but not really.Everytime i watch the video of Miss murder when he screems i laugh and still sing along but i dont yell it! love u guyssssssss

AFI is the best band ever! My favorite songs are Love Like Winter, Silver and Cold, and Endlessly she said. OMG davey is such a talented singer! So is Jade though. Well, what the hell there all really talented! Love your newalbum Decemberunderground! -Amanda
