MacBook: Tiny Screwdrivers

June 28th, 2006

AppleMy 1GB RAM from Ramjet arrived today, after only three days of waiting I might add, even though I requested the economy shipping option. Anyhow, I found I can’t get the L-bracket off to expose the RAM slots because of these practically microscopic screws holding it in. I guess what is needed is a Phillips #00 screwdriver which I don’t have.

So my first stop was Longs Drugs and then a local hardware store, the former didn’t have it and the latter was closed. I guess I’ll stop by Radio Shack tomorrow. I’m left with this slight feeling of frustration; so close yet so far. I wonder if Steve Jobs himself chose these screws since they are tiny and hardly show on the white MacBook surface?

After I get this RAM installed, my plan is to finally install Boot Camp and Windows XP on this MacBook. It will be a while before that happens at this rate.
