MacBook and Belkin Wireless

June 23rd, 2006

AppleAlthough I had gotten my wireless connection issues with my DI-614+ more or less solved, I replaced the router with a Belkin Wireless G and was pleasantly surprised. I was still experiencing problems connecting upon wake from sleep and when first powering up both computers in the morning, which was getting annoying. In addition to the MacBook, I also have an iMac G4 with a non-g wireless connection.

So the Belkin Wireless G was quick and easy to set up. It supports WPA which my several years old DI-614+ didn’t. And although I didn’t do a thing to upgrade my DSL or hardware in the computers, I’m seeing a substantial speed boost. Lastly, the wake from sleep issues are gone. All for the low price of about $30.

Disclosure: I own a tiny amount of Apple stock.
