Yesterday afternoon the server that hosts my web sites went down, due to what was most likely a hard drive failure. All the data looks like it was restored just fine. So no big deal, but just yet another realization that despite the flash of technology, web sites are stored on physical objects that fail regularly. I think I’ll back up my hard drives today.

Another day off, despite a deadline at work. It’s pretty amazing what just an extra day off every other week can do to your psyche. Rather than a blow out vacation of several weeks, an occasional one sprinkled around gives me the opportunity to get stuff done with all motivation usually reserved for work. I feel that after two or three days off I really lose momentum and just want to sit around playing video games and eating chips.
