Bit the bullet and ordered the white base model MacBook. Apple sure sends a lot of confirmation emails. So now I’m guessing it won’t arrive in my eager hands until Monday. Now I’ve got the FedEx tracking number and can follow its progress. Interesting to note it’s coming straight from China. So now I’m guessing it won’t arrive in my eager hands until Monday. Asustek makes the laptops and it’s a demonstration of how many of our electronics don’t even receive the final coat of paint here in the states.

Listened to Inside the Net and Leo Laporte offered up that he too has ordered a MacBook (and sprung for the black model). I’m sure the black will be a hot seller based on the black iPods and an easy way for Apple to generate some extra cash with minimal effort. Surprising to hear how people know they’re just paying for the status, and don’t care. Marketing genius.
