Google Page Creator, Apple Stuff

February 24th, 2006

TechnologyGot in under the wire via Digg and signed up for the Google Page Creator, basically a “Web 2.0″ type web page layout application that runs in a web browser presumably with AJAX. I must say I found it pretty solid and useful for making simple web pages, of the blog or home page variety. I don’t think I would use it for my own sites, but for people who just want to toss up a few photos and write about stuff it’s quite spiffy. You can take a look at what I created in a few minutes here.

Second, it seems next week Tuesday there’s another Apple event, this time rumors suggest a “true” video iPod (as in this photo) or an Apple Video Store. I don’t think either will happen, namely because I still don’t think a small iPod is condusive to watching an hour and a half movie (short videos are fine), and second because there still aren’t enough TV shows in the store and to add movies I feel would essentially pull the focus away from all the TV show momentum before that ball has really started rolling.

So what will they announce? For selfish reasons, I still hope it’s the Intel iBook, or possibly an update to Airport Express: a video capable version that will stream video to a TV. Lastly, I think the Mac Mini is a likely target for an Intel chip.
