Intel iMac and MacBook notes
As more people get their hands on the new machines, more interesting info is emerging. First off was a game demo of the game World of Warcraft running at high speeds on an iMac Intel. Having played Warcraft III on my current iMac and finding it to be on the edge of tolerable, I must say this is an appealing development. One point for the iMac.
And for the MacBook, the name is growing on me. The biggest question that I’ve been asking is, why only one model at 15-inches? Is there something that precluded a wide-screen model? Another MacBook in the works that didn’t make the deadline, perhaps?
As for software, I’m continually impressed by Apple’s attention to detail. They have a new logo on their site for Universal binaries (programs that run on both Intel and Power PC) that resembles a blue and white, aquafied yin-yang symbol. Classy, and with a bit of that Zen-hippie touch.
Disclosure: I own a tiny amount of Apple stock.
