I recorded these albums in my twenties, when I had far more energy, ambition, and unfulfilled emotion. They span about 17 years of obsessive pop music composition and recording. The more distance I get from these projects, the more I find to admire and less to be ashamed of – make of that what you will.
It’s all pop-folk-rock stuff, and my favorite musicians are likely in heavy evidence: The Beatles, XTC, Suzanne Vega, Michael Penn, and Squeeze.
My master plan in 2007, 2008, 2009 is to record one last album and then quit making music altogether, which – from my perspective – will concern very few.
Themed websites are in the works for each album. It only seems fitting to reframe the back catalogue in digital media, since that is my present profession – since the music thing never really panned out.
